McCook/Montrose Quad

We finally were able to wrap up our dual season on Monday, the 1st.  Again, as we did in Wagner, I think we wrestled a bit flat.  The focus and intensity was not apparent to the coaching staff.  While we didn't wrestle terrible, we still didn't wrestle our best.  We need to find that inner fire real soon or we are going to have some individuals disappointed in the finish of their season.  We started off with a win over Parker and a nice victory over Howard.  After the dual, the score was tied 33 - 33.  We won the dual on the 4th criteria, most matches won.  This gave us an extra point making the score final at 34 - 33.  McCook/Montrose was able to take advantage of our open weights to earn the win.  Our lineup was even more porous than usual with a few extra people out for injury and skin issues.  I was disappointed that we couldn't make up the forfeits with our performance, but it is also extremely hard to win a dual with 4 forfeits.  Our normal lineup most likely would not lose that match.  This week we finish up our regular season with the Big East/LCC conference tournament here in town.  It begins at 10:00.  Flandreau is favored to win the tournament followed by Howard and Garretson fighting for second.  Either team could sneak in a win if Flandreau has a poor day.
