Floyd Farrand Tournament

This year's Floyd Farrand tournament proved to be another great test for our wrestling team.  The top eight teams were as follows: Sturgis (213.5 pts), Vermillion (159.5), Canton (152), Wagner (133.5), Howard (123), Watertown (118.5), Harrisburg (117), and Garretson (95).  I was extremely pleased with the team's effort over the holiday break.  A top 8 finish is a great showing for us considering we wrestled with only 10 of the 14 weight classes filled.  The tournament left us somewhat banged up and we will need to get healthy for the last part of our season.  The mix of Class A and Class B schools provides us with a great mix of quality competition.  We had some ups and downs from round to round, but overall had a great performance.  We will need to begin wrestling a bit more consistent throughout the month of January so that we are prepared for the postseason.
